Presentation
of economic and business opportunities of Krasnodar Region will
be held on 25-26 July, 2006 in Shanghai. The presentation is aimed
at development of trade and economic cooperation between Krasnodar
Region and the People’s Republic of China.
The
Presentation is held by Administration of Krasnodar Region and supported
by Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Russia, Ministry
of Foreign Affair of Russia and RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Delegation
of Krasnodar Region will be headed by Alexander Tkachev, the Governor
of Krasnodar Region. Vladimir Beketov, the Chairman of Legislative
Assembly of Krasnodar Region, Vice-Governors of Krasnodar Region,
heads of cities and district, directors of the major enterprises
and organizations are also the members of the delegation.
This
year, in the context of events of the year in Russia, a large number
of meetings of the highest level officials are held in China. Thus,
a visit of President of Russia to China was organized in March and
a jubilee summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held
in June.
China
and Russia are connected by long-term mutually beneficial partnership
relations. Volume of external trade between the countries reaches
$ 30 billion. China as well as Russia is considered as a country
of transition economics.
For
many years China continues to be one of the major trade partners
of Krasnodar Region.
According
to customs statistics data, external trade turnover between Krasnodar
Region and China has constituted $88.91 mln. in 2005. Ratio of trade
of Krasnodar Region with China is about 3 % of the total trading
volume of the Region. More than 20 enterprises based on China’s
investments operate in the Krasnodar Region territory.
Visits
of official delegations of China provinces to Kuban became regular.
Delegation of Anhwei province visited Krasnodar in June 2005 and
delegation of Hainan province visited Sochi in May 2006.
Within
the bounds of X-th International Economic Forum held in Saint-Petersburg
a meeting of Alexander Tkachev, the Governor of Krasnodar Region
and Mr. Pen Shen, the Deputy Chairman of State Committee for Development
and Reform of China took place where a question of further development
of economic cooperation was discussed.
On
June 25 at 9:00 in Oriental Riverside Hotel Shanghai, the Conference
"Krasnodar Region. Current State and Prospects for Development
of Trade and Economic Cooperation between Krasnodar Region and the
People’s Republic of China" will be held. Place of Conference:
Level 1-F, Exhibition Hall I. After the Conference round table discussions
will be organized, where the most prospective branches of economics
of the Region will be presented.
On
June 26 the delegation of Krasnodar Region will visit the Kunshan
Zone of Economic and Technical Development where a meeting of the
delegation with representatives of business community of China will
be held in Traders Hotels Kunshan for the purpose of studying of
advanced experience of economic zone establishment.
Cultural
program of the Presentation will include concerts of the Kuban Cossack
Chorus.
